COCKTAIL MAKING COMPETITION

BUILDING A STRUCTURE FOR PERFORMANCE
Cementing working relationships. To allow delegates to work in small groups and use their creativity to build relationships. The small groups will comprise members of the hosting company and their guests.
The reason for the composition is that it forces the two parties to work together and share creativity and indirectly expectations they have of one another. Each group is given materials to create a house. The materials are clay bricks, cement, door, windows and a roof. The service provider also supplies additional material for the aesthetics of the house. The delegates are tasked to build an environmentally friendly structure that symbolises the relationship they have with one another. The brief could also contain both organisations values and these could be incorporated into the design. Many aspects or dimensions can be added to the brief, depending on what the outcomes are to be. At this time in our country we could add a reference to the soccer world cup regarding the decorating of the structure. The various groups are then asked to explain the structure and what it represents. A winner can be chosen and prises awarded. This activity generates allot of energy and laughter as the groups try to make sense of what they are building. There is also an enormous amount of creativity and pride that results from the activity
